The names of Awami League candidates have been announced in Jessore Bagharpara and Manirampur in the forthcoming third phase Union Parishad elections. It has been alleged that those who got the boat symbol in the two declared unions are the sons of two Razakars. They are Billal Hossain of Raipur Union No. 3 of Bagharpara Upazila and Abul Islam of Chaluahati Union No. 11 of Manirampur. The grassroots of the party are growing angry with the Awami League nominated candidate for giving the boat symbol to the sons of Razakar. Trinamool Awami League leaders, including local freedom fighters, on Saturday (October 23rd) filed two separate petitions with the Awami League president and the local government election nomination board seeking cancellation of their nominations. The names of the party's nominees for the post of chairman in three upazilas of Jessore were announced at an adjourned meeting of the Awami League's Local Government Representative Nomination Board at Ganobhaban, the official residence of the Awami League president, from 4pm on Friday. But among the candidates, Billal Hossain of Raipur Union No. 3 of Bagharpara Upazila and Abul Islam of Chaluahati Union No. 11 of Monirampur have started making a fuss through social media saying that they are the sons of two Razakars. According to sources, Billal Hossain Razakar of Raipur Union No. 3 of Bagharpara Upazila is the son of late Mohammad Ali, chairman of the pitch committee. On the other hand, Abul Islam, son of Dinu Razakar of Atghara village of Chaluyahati union No. 11 of Manirampur has been nominated for the boat symbol. Although Abul Islam and Billal Hossain claimed to be the real Awami League, the reporter said the allegations against them were conspiracies. Strongly condemning these two incidents, the locals along with Bangladesh Awami League President Sheikh Hasina have strongly demanded the cancellation of the nomination of the Razakar sons. At the same time, many have expressed their displeasure through social media in various languages. Abul Hasan, convener of Chaluahati union of Manirampur upazila, and Shahidul Islam Milon, joint convener of Awami League, have mentioned in an application with the president of local Awami Muktijoddha and local government election nomination board that Abul Islam, son of Chaluahati union of Manirampur, is from Atghara village. They allege that his nomination has created a backlash among the Awami League people who believe in the spirit of freedom fighters. He has requested to cancel the nomination of Abul Islam. On the other hand, Jessore District Awami League Secretary for Science and Technology FM Ashraful Kabir (Eng. Bipul Faraji) along with the signatures of 17 surviving heroic freedom fighters of the union has applied to the Awami League President and Local Government Election Nomination Board. Billal Hossain, son of late Chairman Mohammad Ali and younger brother of Kata Musharraf, commander of Al-Badr forces. The heroic freedom fighters were shocked to be nominated by the party given to him. In this way, the image of the organization of Bangabandhu's ideology, the bearer of the liberation war, will fall into crisis. So he prayed to withdraw the nomination of Razakar's son Billal Hossain. It may be mentioned that according to the announced schedule of the third phase, the last date for submission of nomination papers for the posts of Chairman, General Member and Reserved Women Member to the Returning Officer is November 2. The last date for selection of nomination papers is November 4 and the last date for withdrawal is November 11. Voting will take place on November 28
